The Grass Tree bowls (Xanthorrhoea preissil) are NOT burls but are very unique. This species is from Western Australia and is very slow-growing, around 2.5cm (1") per year, however this varies from species to species - while a 5m tall member of the fastest-growing species may be 200 years old, a member of a slower-growing species of the same height may be 600 years old.
This bowl is approximately 28cm wide and 10cm high and is a stunning piece of art. It is authenticated by Merv with his signature and comes with printed information about the Grass Tree.
